What is the difference between a work order and a maintenance log?

A work order is a single job request that documents one maintenance task from start to finish, including fault description, parts used, labour time and sign-off. A maintenance log is an ongoing register that records every service event for an asset over time, building a complete maintenance history.

How do I create a preventive maintenance schedule?

Start by listing all assets and their manufacturer-recommended service intervals. Group tasks by frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual). Use our free preventive maintenance schedule template to map out tasks across the calendar year, or set up automated scheduling in MapTrack.
